Acupuncture involves using single-use, pre-sterilised, disposable needles that pierce the skin at specific Acupuncture points. It is used at Edge Physio to help with the management of pain, as part of an overall combined approach to aid recovery and rehabilitation.
Acupuncture can also be used effectively to help treat some headaches and migraines and Scott has helped many people who have suffered for years with headaches and migraines. Some clients have a full resolution of their headaches! Other client have have anything from a 20%-90% improvement, which has made a huge difference to their life.
Acupuncture has a cumulative effect and therefore 4-6 sessions are usually performed to gain full effect. For headaches, a monthly or 6-weekly session after this initial block can be really helpful in the longer term management of the headache.
Scott is a member of the Acupuncture Association for Chartered Physiotherapists. In order to become a member, you are required to complete a foundation acupuncture course and then maintain your CPD in line with their requirements.
