Scott Baxter - Director
Scott is Director and Lead Physio of Edge Physio in Sudbury and has 17 years of varied physiotherapy experience.
He grew up in Sudbury and has played for many of local sports teams throughout the years. As a youth sportsperson, he represented Suffolk at tennis for 3 years and Suffolk & East Anglia for 3 years at football.
Scott specialises in sports and musculoskeletal physio, which is all injuries, aches and pains from daily life and sports injuries. Before setting up Edge Physio, he spent 7 seasons working full-time at Ipswich Town Football Club, primarily with the clubs u16-23 players. This role meant that Scott has been able to work alongside some of Europe's leading Orthopaedic Consultants for spinal, knee, ankle and tendon problems, both in the U.K. and abroad. This experience allows him to provide expert assessment and care for you. Scott now works for GB Snowsport as part of the support team for the Para-Snowboard athletes. After working at the football club he supports, he can now combine his hobby of skiing with work.
Previous to his roles within professional sport, Scott worked within the NHS as a Neurological Paediatric Physiotherapist and then for 4 years within MSK, both as a junior and senior Physiotherapist. In his senior role, he qualified as a University Placement Educator with the University or East Anglia and still helps University students today.
In between his NHS roles, Scott combined physiotherapy and his love of skiing by going to work for a ski season in St Anton, Austria. Here he treated both recreational and professional skiers, including pioneering free-style skier Candide Thovex.
In addition to these experiences, Scott is a level 2 matwork pilates instructor (APPI), a bronze level member of the Chartered Physiotherapists in Sport and Exercise Medicine (ACPSEM) and a member of the Acupuncture Association for Chartered Physiotherapists (AACP).
With the range of physiotherapy experiences and sporting background Scott has, he understands the stresses and strains of both daily life and elite sport. He can provide a high level of unique physio care for all people, of all fitness levels, in Sudbury, Suffolk and the surrounding area
