Physiotherapy aims to restore movement and function to areas affected by injury or pain. Here at Edge Physio we specialise in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, which primarily involves the assessment and treatment of muscles, tendons, joints, bones, ligaments and nerve problems. We aim to search for possible causes of the pain you have, not just provide a quick fix that does not last over time.
We take particular pride in assessing and helping injuries that other clinicians or professions may not have been successful in helping. Knee injury is a speciality of Scott as he has seen various high level athletic knee operations, in theatre, with the highly regarded Orthopaedic Surgeon, Andy Williams, from the Fortius Clinic in London. This is unique specialist experience for the Sudbury, Suffolk area.
A shockwave is a strong pressure wave that was initially used in the treatment of kidney stones. The effectiveness of this treatment has now been proven for longer term MSK injuries such as achilles or patella tendon issues, tendonitis, plantar fasciitis, shoulder pain and tennis elbow. For appropriate conditions, around 3-6 sessions can be hugely effective. For more information, please contact Edge Physio or for detailed scientific information, check out
the electrotherapy information website, run by Professor Tim Watson, by clicking below. Edge Physio was the first clinic in Sudbury, Suffolk to use this specialist piece of equipment and Scott has over 6 years of experience using the modality.
Acupuncture involves using single-use, pre-sterilised, disposable needles that pierce the skin at specific Acupuncture points. It is used at Edge Physio to help with the management of pain, as part of an overall combined approach to aid recovery and rehabilitation. Acupuncture can also be used effectively to help treat some headaches and migraines. Acupuncture has a cumulative effect and therefore 4-6 sessions are usually performed to gain full effect.
Scott is AACP Accredited - click the link below to find out more about the AACP and why registration is important.
Physio Led Beginnger Pilates is available with Edge Physio in Sudbury, Suffolk. Scott is level 2 matwork trained with the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (APPI).
Scotts approach to pilates tries to be engaging, fun but also provide you with some challenges to enable you to improve as you will only focus on what you are doing.
Currently no classes are running, however pilates is incorporated into many back, neck and shoulder treatment and rehab plans.
So if you are in pain, contact to get the treatment you need and the rehab to maintain your improvements.
Scott has a level 5 BTEC qualification in Sports & Remedial Massage, obtained from the North London School of Sports Massage (NLSSM), in 2009.
He uses many of these techniques as part of your overall treatment session, depending on your needs and what is going to best help your aches and pains.
Our treatment sessions often combine the use of massage techniques, acupuncture and mobilisations to help achieve the best outcome for muscular pain. All treatment modalities are included in the session price. There is no additional cost for each type of treatment as this enables flexibility in each treatment session to suit you.
In our clinic room, we have a small squat rack, jump boxes, gym balls, various resistance bands and some light weights. This is another unique quality of Edge Physio for Sudbury, Suffolk. Most clinics you will need to go in to a gym to check your exercise or progress your rehab work - not with Edge Physio!
We also have the Myomaster Recovery Leg Pumps available for rental for either a 7 day or 14 day period. The photo is from the myomaster website, click the below link to find out more about how they could help you!
