Physiotherapy aims to restore movement and function to areas affected by injury or pain. Here at Edge Physio we specialise in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, which primarily involves the assessment and treatment of muscles, tendons, joints, bones, ligaments and nerve problems. We aim to search for possible causes of the pain you have, not just provide a quick fix that does not last over time.
We take particular pride in assessing and helping injuries that other clinicians or professions may not have been successful in helping. A knee injury is a speciality of Scott as he has seen various high level athletic knee operations, in theatre, with the highly regarded Orthopaedic Surgeon, Andy Williams, from the Fortius Clinic in London.
A shockwave is a strong pressure wave that was initially used in the treatment of kidney stones. The effectiveness of this treatment has now been proven for longer term MSK injuries such as achilles or patella tendon issues, tendonitis, plantar fasciitis, shoulder pain and tennis elbow. For appropriate conditions, around 3-6 sessions can be hugely effective. For more information, please contact Edge Physio or for detailed scientific information, check out

Acupuncture involves using single-use, pre-sterilised, disposable needles that pierce the skin at specific Acupuncture points. It is used at Edge Physio to help with the management of pain, as part of an overall combined approach to aid recovery and rehabilitation. Acupuncture can also be used effectively to help treat some headaches and migraines. Acupuncture has a cumulative effect and therefore 4-6 sessions are usually performed to gain full effect.

Cupping therapy can be a fantastic treatment option to help relieve tightness and tension in the neck, shoulders and back. It can be used really effectively on calf and thigh strains too.
Suction cups are placed over the area that is tight and then suction is applied to help lift the skin up. This encourages lots of local blood flow to the area and helps relax and relieve tightness.
Sometimes you are left with a bruise mark where the suction cup has been, however this does not hurt. It is a sign that lots of blood has been encouraged into that area.
